Sarayu Rai and Sanjay Jha, joined JDU |
Welcoming Rai into the party, JD(U) National President Sanjay Jha said that his arrival will strengthen the party. This also puts an end to the speculations that have been going on for several days. Recently, Saryu Rai had met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna multiple times. Nitish Kumar had expressed his desire for Rai to join JD(U) and expand the party's organization in Jharkhand.
*Joined JDU as per Nitish Kumar's wish.
*Saryu Rai can take command of JDU in Jharkhand.
* Saryu Rai's role will increase in the upcoming assembly elections.
It is being speculated that Saryu Rai may take charge of JD(U) in the state. He will also formally merge his party, Bharatiya Janata Morcha, with JD(U). Rai is a supporter of the Janata Morcha and after not receiving a ticket from the BJP in the 2019 elections, he left the party. He had contested against the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das from Jamshedpur East and defeated him.
This time as well, Saryu Rai will contest the upcoming elections from Jamshedpur East. There is a strong possibility that he will receive support from BJP on this seat. JD(U) has a good relationship with BJP at the center as well as in Bihar. Therefore, in the upcoming assembly elections, there is a possibility that BJP may decide to support him on this seat in the state.
